We are all a procrastinator
-Inside of Procrastinator’s mind:
- Rational man
- Instant gratification monkey
- Deadline monster
The monkey is taking over mind control from the rational man. Wasting mind’s time to do a ‘wasting time-non priority’ activities. Until the deadline-monster came right before the last minutes and awake the mind. The monkey then runs away and the rational man is taking control back to finish the ‘make sense-priority’ tasks.
Two Types of Procrastinator
- With obvious deadline/short term
- With unseen/unrealized deadline/long term
For type 1, usually will survive by the deadline-monster that awakes the rational brain to start working on the make sense priority actions
For type 2, because of no realized deadline. So the deadline monster is not waking up. And this is more dangerous and wider than the sort term procrastinator.
Tips to tackle that type 2 problems are by starting to draw the weekly box of life. To start realizing that there is a deadline (of life). And we are getting closer to that. By this, we can awake rationally and hopefully start working on our priorities of life.-
